Hola mis hermosas paginitas, espero que la palabras
en las páginas de sus vidas vayan floreciendo, y estén escribiendo capítulos
memorables. Hoy vengo a fangirlear mucho con esta reseña, y es que saben mi
amor por la mitología Griega, y todas sus variantes, así que cuando me di
cuenta que esta historia era un Retelling del mito de Selene y Endymion, quede
muy expectante, por dos razones, una es porque si es un retelling, espero
similitudes con el original, y la segunda es porque normalmente vemos esta
adaptaciones mitológicas en libros con temática de fantasía y ciencia ficción,
pero este es un romance… un romance contemporáneo.
Sinopsis.
Él era el sol, y ella la luna. Un amor como el de ellos nunca estuvo destinado a durar.
Selene Drake siempre ha sido la chica que se mezcla en el fondo.
Un alhelí.
Tranquila.
Qué pasa desapercibida.
Tan dulce como puede ser.
Algo que nunca la molestó, prefería escabullirse en las sombras.
Cuando vio por primera vez a Endymion Black, se enamoró irrevocablemente de él.
El chico malo.
Frío.
Distante.
Tan guapo como puede ser.
Durante años, ella añoró al chico inalcanzable que de alguna manera se había abierto camino en su corazón.
Hasta que todo cambió.
Una noche inolvidable llena de pasión y lujuria prohibida destruyó su ingenuo corazón y reformó su alma inocente. La hizo huir del único pueblo que había conocido de verdad.

Opinión.
Empezando por la
historia básica del retelling, tengo que decirles que S.M. Soto acoplo muy bien
el argumento, no fue un argumento completo pero si tiene muchos pincelazos del
mito, y es fiel y contundente a ese mito a lo largo del libro. Además la forma
en que el mito se aplica a la vida de los protagonistas de la historia, te
lleva con un ritmo de lectura muy fluido, al punto que solo iba en el tercer
capítulo de la historia y ya había experimentado, el amor, anhelo, la
esperanza, la ilusión y el desamor entre
los protagonistas, y solo quería saber que más pasaba, y si a eso le agregamos
un plot twis en el capítulo cuatro que redefine un poco el curso de las cosas,
tenemos una historia ¡MAGNIFICO!
No quiero revelar
mucho, porque pienso que es de esos libros que vale la pena que descubras por
ti mismo, pero ambientándonos, la historia se lleva a cabo en un pequeño
pueblo, y ya saben ¨pueblo pequeño, infierno grande¨, así que espera mucho esas
situaciones, además de que todos conocen de todos.
Con nuestros
personajes de Selene y Endymion, la forma en la que la autora los transforma de
adolescentes a adultos me agrado, porque son personajes con conflictos internos
que tienen que cargar cada uno con las decisiones que han tomado. En este libro
no hay buenos ni malos (en cuanto la pareja
de Selene y Endymion), si no que solo hay personas que intentan resolver sus
conflictos de la mejor manera posible, y eso implica que no muchas veces harán
las cosas bien, si no que van arruinar las cosas, pero lo que te define es como
haces para remediar esos errores, esperando que nunca sea demasiado tarde
Si algo me ame, es
que no es la típica historia de segundas oportunidades trillada, si no que fue
una manera muy divertida y realista de contar la historia de estos personajes.
Al final no solo es una historia de amor entre una pareja, es una historia de
amor generacional, una con la cual te puedes identificar, te lleva en un viaje
de emociones increíbles y te hace pensar en que eso es el amor, el amor es un
viaje de emociones constantes, el amor viene y se da en diferentes maneras a diferentes
personas pero el vínculo de amor que te une a los demas es lo que cuenta y es
lo que hace que la vida y el mundo en sí, sea un lugar bonito.
Este libro lleno
mucho mi corazón, he reido y he llorado, y no soy de las que llora fácilmente, así
que lo super recomiendo, y espero que al leerlo, tengan las mismas y muchas
emociones.

Today I come to fangirl a lot with this review, and they know my love for Greek mythology, and all its variants, so when I realized that this story was a Retelling of the myth of Selene and Endymion, I was very expectant, for two reasons, one is because if it is a retelling, I expect similarities with the original, and the second is because we usually see these mythological adaptations in fantasy and science fiction themed books, but this is a romance… a contemporary romance.

Starting with the basic history of retelling, I have to tell you that H.M. Soto put the argument very well, it was not a complete argument but it does have many touches of the myth, and he is faithful and forceful to that myth throughout the book. In addition, the way in which the myth is applied to the lives of the protagonists of the story, takes you with a very fluid reading rhythm, to the point that I was only going in the third chapter of the story and had already experienced, love, longing , hope, illusion and heartbreak between the protagonists, and I just wanted to know what else was going on, and if we add to that a twis plot in chapter four that redefines the course of things a bit, we have a MAGNIFICENT story!
I do not want to reveal much, because I think it is one of those books that is worth discovering for yourself, but setting us, the story takes place in a small town, and you know ¨ small town, big hell ¨, so wait a lot of those situations, plus everyone knows everyone.
With our characters Selene and Endymion, the way in which the author transforms them from adolescents to adults I like, because they are characters with internal conflicts that each have to bear the decisions they have made. In this book there are no good or bad (as for the couple of Selene and Endymion), but there are only people who try to resolve their conflicts in the best possible way, and that implies that they will not often do things well, if not that they will ruin things, but what defines you is how you do to remedy those mistakes, hoping that it is never too late
If something loves me, it is that it is not the typical hackneyed second chances story, but it was a very funny and realistic way of telling the story of these characters. In the end it is not only a love story between a couple, it is a generational love story, one with which you can identify, it takes you on a journey of incredible emotions and makes you think that this is love, love is a journey of constant emotions, love comes and is given in different ways to different people but the bond of love that binds you to others is what counts and is what makes life and the world itself a place beautiful.
This book filled my heart a lot, I have laughed and cried, and I am not one of those who cries easily, so I highly recommend it, and I hope that when you read it, you will have the same and many emotions.
